Day 1: Arrival and overnight in Kampala
You will be met on arrival by your driver / guide who will warmly receive and welcome you and will transfer you to your accommodation in Kampala for Dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Travel to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
08:00am: Your guide will collect you from your hotel in Kampala and will remain with you throughout your safari. You will drive to Bwindi, passing through the beautiful Ugandan countryside with plenty of breaks en-route including one at the equator.
Day 3: Gorilla tracking
08:00am: After enjoying an early breakfast and a short briefing at the park headquarters with your small group, your ranger will lead you through the tropical rainforest in search of your gorilla family. Trekking through the steep, densely forested hills and then finally coming across the gorillas camouflaged in the vegetation is an inspiring and privileged moment. Tracking in the Bwindi Forest requires stamina and can often take most of the day. Join them for an hour, observing their behaviour in their natural habitat.
Day 4: Drive to Lake Bunyonyi – explore the amazing lake
09:00am: After a great day with the gentle giants, a 2-hour journey takes you to the stunning Lake Bunyonyi where you will have relaxed activities as you enjoy the scenery. Spend the afternoon on a canoe safari around this beautiful lake, dotted with a number of little Islands. There is whole load of history to listen to from your guide as you tour. (There are a number of optional activities like; zip lining over the lake, nature walk, high ropes course, that you can choose to take).
Day 5: Return to Kampala
07:00am: Start your day early enough and make your way back to Kampala (approx. 8 – 9 hours), stopping for lunch and perhaps shopping en route.
Day 6: Travel to Jinja
Transfer to Jinja for the full or half day White Water Rafting activity. With a valuable river team, we believe you will have a life time experience in Uganda, you can choose from the mild trips to the wild trips professionally run by a team with river-experience spanning over 20 years on the Nile. Come share that memory and experience on the remaining exciting big rapids on the White Nile. Enjoy the scenery and the smiles from the pearl of Africa.
Day 7: Ziplining in Mabira Forest
Experiencing the Mabira Forest canopy just makes you behave like monkeys! The first of its kind in Uganda. The Mabira Forest Canopy Super Skyway is a canopy “zip-line” system that sends you soaring between the tallest trees in the rainforest. Located 44kms East of Kampala City, outside of Lugazi town at the griffin falls camp, the skyway makes for you a great day.
Day 8: Time with Man’s closest relative
Catch a speed boat that will depart to Ngamba Island which is 23kms from Entebbe. On your way, you will cross the Equator on Lake Victoria where the captain will make a stop to take pictures. At the island, you will be welcomed by a guide and given a briefing about the sanctuary activities. You will then view the 11.00am chimpanzee feeding from a raised viewing platform. You will take the boat back to Entebbe and then head to the botanical gardens for a picnic lunch. Enjoy the cool ambiance of the gardens with a relaxing view of Lake Victoria. You can also take a nature walk in the gardens while you enjoy the various tree species.
Day 9: Visit the various craft markets in Entebbe town for your souvenirs
Take your flight back home.
NB: Depending which day falls on a Wednesday or Sunday, you can have a cultural entertainment in the evening at the Ndere Cultural centre in Kampala.
